A slacker recaps.

me right now.
So hey... I'm back.

For those of you who didn't realize it, I was in Minnesota for 6 days. I surprised my mom by coming home for her retirement party. Nobody knew about it. The surprise went off without a hitch.

I'd write about the details of it, but I'm really tired.

So shrimpy picked me up at the airport last night (because she's the best girlfriend ever) and we ate some shitty food at the Galaxy, went back to my place and watched Brazil and (yadda yadda yadda) I went in to work at noon today.

Who's going to yell at me? All of the higher-ups are on vacation! I almost didn't show up at all! I wonder if they would have noticed.

Edited to mention: I was really tired when I wrote this, but I would like to mention that I had a GREAT time in Minnesota and I got to see dozens of people I haven't seen in years and I was so happy to get to surprise my mom and dad and everyone else. On the plane ride to Minnesota, I couldn't stop grinning because I kept thinking about how great it was going to be to surprise my mom for her retirement party. Honestly. The last part of the plane ride, I couldn't even sit still. And when my sister (who had flown in from Chicago) pointed me out to my mom at the airport, she looked right over my shoulder (because my mom thought they were picking up one of my sister's friends).

And the party was surreal. All of these people from different points in my life. My godparents, my junior high band teacher... it was strange talking to these people as an adult.

So the trip was incredibly, incredibly awesome.
